Inbound Links Outbound Links No LinksBlog Post Date: Jan 09 2007
INBOUND LINKING, OUTBOUND LINKS, NO LINKS
I often hear talk in the SEO industry about the benefits of inbound and outbound linking from your website and blogs. I thought I would put together a quick illustration below to help discuss this topic. ![]() A SITE WITH 0 LINKS Sites with 0 links are usually those which are brand new, or where the owners don't know about the importance of linking. This may also be the case where the owner of the website wanted this site to be solely a "brochure site" that is only promoted off line, via business cards, news paper ads, magazine ads etc. They don't rely on search engine traffic or traffic from other websites and directories as their source of sales and income. We'll assume for this discussion that you need your site to be visible on the search engines and with other sites. THE INTERNET IS A BIG WEB OF LINKS When you really sit back and think about it, the whole internet is based on links back and forth from one site to another. Even google and Yahoo are just big buckets of links. It's pretty basic: You click on links to take you from one site to another. Linking is so basic and fundamental on the internet that sometimes it's just good to have a basic fundamental look at why we need links. The links on a site talk about the relationships that a site has with others. You can tell how well a site is "socialized" by the amount of inbound links and outbound links it has. Simply stated, a site with no inbound links or outbound links will have no organic traffic, ever. Even if you have the most valuable information on the internet published on your site, if you have no inbound links of anytype, you'll never receive any traffic. SITE WITH INBOUND LINKS ONLY There are some who believe that only having inbound links will help you do the best with the search engines. Google has indicated that it's search engine algorithm is heavily based on inbound links to your site. A site with inbound links only is like a spoiled child sitting in the middle of the livingroom at a family gathering screaming at the top of his lungs, "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!" That child will get immediate attention from everyone in the room, but will soon be overlooked because of their selfishness. It's also the same when you're having a discussion with another person over coffee. If you're constantly interrupting your coffee partner to talk about yourself (ie... the links are pointed back at you all the time), the other person is soon going to tire of listening to you about you. The website with only inbound links is not offering its visitors the all important valuable resources and networking that comes with outbound links. ![]() SITE WITH OUTBOUND LINKS ONLY Outbound links are a great source of value for your readers, especially when you're writing a good quality article or post and referencing other good quality websites. Just as people love it when you talk about them, visitors to your site love to see good quality links to other. People love to visit people who are interesting and have similar interests. A good and fulfilling conversation is usually about common interests and people that you both know. CONVERSATIONS ARE ALL ABOUT VERBAL LINKS A typical conversation amongst family and friends is about how other family members are doing and the activities you did with your friends. You'll also talk about restaurants you visited, places you travelled, movies and TV shows you watched and alot more. The whole idea behind a conversation is to talk about painful or pleasurable times and with whom or where they occurred. Translated, these are verbal links that you share with your family and friends. The same thing should occur on your site. You should have a healthy amount of out bound links to other sites you're referencing to enhance the article or post you're writing. It's bad to have only outbound links. A site needs to have a balance of both inbound links and outbound links. If you don't have inbound links there is absolutely no way for other sites to find you. Your site won't have any traffic at all, and visitors would probably love to see your site will never have a way to find it. HIGH-QUALITY-LINKS.COM = RELATIONSHIPS AND LONG TERM LINKING PARTNERS. What do these blogs have in common?
Google Back Links
Pages Index In Google:
Links out from these sites: TONS AND TONS AND TONS!!! I've followed these blogs for the last few years and marvelled at how well they do. They've all developed some great notoriety in the blogosphere. I don't imagine that any are going to come by this site and sign up for links and blog commenting reciprocation!! :) The thing that makes these blogs great is that the writers are robotic about writing articles. They link out pretty much on every entry to some site or blog. These bloggers also write about all types of topics. And they try to make tthem controversial so that their commenters get into good discussions. Check out the amount of comments on janegalt.net and althouse.blogspot.com janegalt.net is great at writing articles that people comment on. Megan and her partners are able to write a 1 line post - Who is watching this Saddam video? January 3, 2007 - which gets 53 comments. Ann Althouse is also robotic about writing entries in her blog. She writes at least 5 posts per day. She mostly writes about politics , but she has been know to write about doodles that she's created while talking on the phone. These doodle posts got her at least 20 comments. I could go on and on. The thing that these blogs have in common is that :
I thought I should show case these blogs as they do a great job and are worth studying if you are serious about blogging, linking, commenting etc.

WHAT ARE MEME LINKS
Memes as discrete units Though Dawkins defined the meme as "a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation", memeticists vary in their definitions of meme. The lack of a consistent, rigorous and precise understanding of what typically makes up one unit of cultural transmission remains a problem in debates about memetics. WHAT ARE HIGH QUALITY LINKS MADE OF?
Sugar and spice and everything nice? as is mentioned in that old nursery rhyme. <a href= "http://www.website.com" title= "Keyword Phrase relevant to link" target= "_blank"> My goal for 2007 is to learn and internalize, and then write about my findings of what makes up high quality links. The study of a small little html command, and the study of relationship development.

WE'VE JUST LAUNCHED JAN 1, 2007
We're pleased to launch the first site that offers people a Reciprocal Blog Commenting and an Article Linking directory. This site is a new and unique type of directory for active bloggers who are interested in exchanging comments and links with other bloggers. HOW THIS SITE CAME TO BE - TWO REASONS 1) I was trying to figure out a non-spammy, but high quality ways to link out to sites and receive links from sites that would set off the engine alarm bells for reciprocal linking. In doing my research I found that sites love to link to other sites that have valuable and interesting information. This is natural, organic linking, which weighs the most with the search engines as far as link value. It would be nice to find other sites that you could exchange links with, in article format, blog format, or any other content format. 2) I write some blogs myself. I love the idea of talking about the things that I'm passionate about. I also love the idea of sharing thoughts and ideas, in comments, with other like minded bloggers. The problem I've had is that some of the topics I blog about are sometimes obscure. It's hard to find like minded bloggers who want to share comments sometimes. I've gone to different blogs in the same industry and invited them to reciprocate blog comments. That is perceived as spammy, by those who don't like to reciprocate blog comments. Social Network is all the rage - does it work though? Social networking is wildly popular right at the moment. I've gone to digg.com, del.icio.us.com and spent some time trying to develop relationships with other blog/site owners. Many times there are the main blog writers who usually get tons of comments and links to their sites. These guys are very knowledgable in their topics and add alot of value to their communities. It's still hard to go on to social networking sites and ask people if they want to reciprocate comments and article links. It's hit or miss. Some people do want to exchange comments and some don't. It's the same problem on each type of media. PEOPLE HERE DON'T MIND EXCHANGING COMMENTS WITH STRANGERS This site is all about people who want to exchange comments with other sites but are having trouble finding active comment partners who don't mind you reciprocating blog comments with them. You may not become the best of buddies with your new comment partners, however, you'll never feel bad about just visiting their sites, placing a comment on their blog, and expecting to do the same with yours. This site is especially valuable with exchanging comments with more obscure topic blogs. Recently I had to do some research for my life insurance blog, and had to visit funeral blogs. Funeral blogs are loved by a small percentage of the blogging population, and I wanted to exchange some thoughts and ideas with them. It was difficult to find a blogger in the funeral industry who I knew would take the time to do some back and forth visiting with me while I was writing my article. I felt bad just going on their blogs and starting a dialogue which included asking questions about their industry. Also I noticed that many of the funeral / life insurance blogs have 0 comments on them. Not a big exchange of ideas being traded in those industries. RECIPROCAL BLOG COMMENT / ARTICLE LINK EXCHANGING BORN! Motivated by my activities as stated above, I thought that there must be many other bloggers, article writers, and website owners who are having the same issue. I did some research and found that there weren't any other sites like this which offered this type of service. The rest is history!! I hope that you will enjoy this website, make some new blog commenting friends from it, generate tons of links back to your sites and blogs, naturally of course!! Please do leave a comment as to if you like the service, hate the service, don't understand the service or any other concerns. And also please do feel free to link back to this site at any time!! I hope to do the same for you and your site in the near future!. Best wishes. Monty Loree - Webmaster www.high-quality-links.com
